ACE Overcomers Introduces Parent Education Program in Merced County

In a significant boost to family welfare initiatives in Merced County, ACE Overcomers, in collaboration with Valley Children’s Hospital and Cultiva Central Valley, launched a groundbreaking Parent Education and Support Program. This pioneering two-year project, generously funded by the Central California Alliance for Health, is designed to cater to the Medi-Cal underserved populations, offering bilingual parenting classes for parents, guardians, and caregivers of children aged 0-5 years.

The program, set to commence with English classes in Los Banos on May 4 and 11, 2024, at Bethel Community Church, promises an enriching schedule of engaging and informative sessions. These classes aim to arm participants with crucial knowledge and skills in child development, effective communication, positive discipline, and fostering a healthy family environment. Expert-led and resource-rich, the initiative not only promises education but also practical support through valuable toolkits and educational materials.

“Empowering parents and creating nurturing family environments are at the core of this initiative,” stated Dave Lockridge, Executive Director of ACE Overcomers. The program underscores the commitment of ACE Overcomers and its partners to bolster community resilience and well-being through meaningful education and support.
